This story starts out with the main character seeming to give the plot away---very un -Agatha Christie like! But read on, the plot has an unexpected twist which makes this a great read.
This is a great short story about a mystery being told to a group of people. Fun ending. Highly recommended.
This story earned 5 stars because it was superbly simple, and yet she fooled me again with a completely unexpected ending. Well done, as ever!
I really enjoy Miss Marple. She’s funny and clever. How great it would be to have someone in this world to solve crimes for us now!
Another surprising story! A story one has solved only to be totally wrong. Agatha christie is truly the greatest storyteller.
Delightful little bedside companion. The stories are short and engaging, and are currently serving as an evening respite from my reading of Bleak House by Charles Dickens. Miss Marple is wonderful, and her laser-like focus and knowledge of human nature serve her (and readers) very well. Highly recommended.
Not one of Christie's best Miss Marple short stories. The writing seemed lackluster as it always does when the focus is on Jane Helier. Christie's descriptions of Helier are superficially amusing, but I think the author had some animosity toward members of that particular profession. Miss Marple also had very little to do with the proceedings, her main business coming at the end to deliver a warning.
